I'm getting a third tank which is 75g, I have a redtail shark in my 30g and he is going in there. I was hoping of fish along the lines of
Redtail shark 1
Green Severums 1maybe but probably not 2
Blue Gouramis 2
4 or 5 giant danios or 6 boesamni rainbows
i dont think 6 - 8 cories could work with those fish right?
Anything else?? It seems like my tank is pretty full.

Hmm... careful with the Green Severums they are either peaceful or bad-tempered and territorial depending on what their personality is like. Not sure if you are ok keeping just one on it's own? Clown Loaches would be nice :good:

ya i really like clown loaches but i know that they will outgrow a 75g tank. Ya well im not sure i threw in the second severum idea so that the first would be happier. I have heard though of people keeping big severums with big tetras and danios before.

The Severum should be okay. I think they have been nicked name the gentle giants of the aquarium, right?
I think it could work out, just be ready to re-home the Severum if things get nasty!

Im assuming you mean nasty to the cories right? tHE redtail shark and gouramis should be big enough that the severum wont try to kill them right??

severums in my exsperience are sooo placid...my worst fish was my 6inch redtail black shark...<evil>as is my albino redtail<evil>
severum soo placid in my tank
As I said either placid or ill-tempered :good:

ok so you should i keep 2 severums or 1. If i keep 2 then i will be in trouble if i get 2 males, and if i get a pair then dont they get prety agressive during spawning?? Also its not overcrowded with all of those fish including 6-8 cories and 4-5 giant danios.

Males have lots of very defined squigles on their faces. They do get pretty aggressive during spawning just before and after the fry hatch.

so do you think i should keep one or two??? Also now i am debating between a green severum or a gold, but if i were to keep two maybe both. But i want the green because of the green, but when i type in Geen Sev. on google there are mixed images of a nice green and more of a dull silver. I have read that the gold is much more striking, so i dont know which one. What do you all think??

can someone show me a big clown loach, i have NEVER seen a big clown loach that has been raised in a tank since it was a baby, personally i dont believe that they get that big since they grow so slow.

Ive wondered about that too. I think clown loaches are really fascinating. I have heard that if you have 5 or more of them together they do some very interesting "dances" and school together in interesting patterns, as well as sleeping on their sides and whatnot. Has anyone seen this with clown loaches?
