ok so the is finaly here just waiting for a cheque to clear then can order my new upgrade. am prob gonna get a 75g 48x18x24 for about an extra 30-40 quid can get a 4x2x2 is it really worth it in terms of stocking options

yes, the environment is also more stable. even if you stock with your plans for the 75g, the fish will love the extra space ;)

ok thanks thats what i thought as the extra size is in the "footprint" not the depth just wanted to check 1st

I meant "extra depth" as depth when viewing the tank, not in height. But you obviously got the right idea.

well i have measured up and it will fit in ok . was gonna pay 15 quid to get a black background floated on i rekon instead i will get the 4x2x2 with no background and just use a peice of black card or something. cant wait i have big polans for this tank gonna go all out to make it look as attractive as possible

planning is this the tank is from nd aquatics going with black silicone a layer of tropica plant substrate topped with black gravel and black bacground to really make the colours of the plants and fish pop out. god i can wait!!!

Bigger is best, get the biggest tank you can afford / fit in the space you have, if you don't and some stage you will sit back, look at your tank and wish you did

think the co2 and the serious planting will have to wait a while as im gonna need some good filtration going with an eheim pro2 so the initial budget will be taken up with the tank, heater, filter lights and gravel . will go for hardy easy plants to start with then at a later date when i can afford it get a co2 kit and do some "propper" planting. at the mo i dont use co2 and i am growing green cambomba yellow cambomba and elodea densa with pretty good results .
