75 Gallon Community Tropical Tank Thoughts And Ideas.

im wanting peoples thoughts and opinions/ideas on my 75 gallon tank. any comments apreciated.
please dont say "overstocked" i do very frequent water changes to cope with that.
STOCK LIST: 1 pleco, 2 medium gold gouramis, 1 medium blue gourami, 1 dwarf gourmai, 25 neon teras, 4 columbian tetras, 10 rummy nose tetras, 10 glo-light tetras, 10 guppies, 4 mollies, 1 platy, 10 harlequin rosbaras, 4 blind cave teras, 3 cory doras, 3 unkown algae eaters, 3 danios.

Not big on big tanks, so I don't know if you're overstocked or not, tbh.

BUT

1) What sort of plec? Is it one that will outgrow your tank?
2) All species of corydoras are shoaling, and exhibit more natural behaviour when kept in a group of 6 or more.
3) Very risky having a fish that you don't know what it is (ie unknown algae eater). Some grow ridiculously large, some others get very aggressive when they get older. If you don't know what your fish is, you don't know what potential problems you've got.
4) What sort of Danio? Whichever, they're a shoaling species, but some (most) need a long tank, which you may or may not have.

That is an Albino Bristlenose Make sure you have some bog wood.

My only suggestion is on top of the water changes, you may want to double your filtration to cope with the load as well. You also may want to rethink the gouramia as the blue guarami may be very aggressive to the other guaramis and smaller fish. Check further into the compatibility on those Otherwise, it sound like it will look rather active. Oh and with the danios and cories, up the numbers as they prefer larger groups.

I have a planted price of bog wood, I'd that hood for the Pleco?
Will up the numbers on the danios and corydoras soon.
I have an internal fluval u4? Is that enough?
If not, I might add my old filter to help out

One more thing is that my gold gourami attacks my blue gourami, my blue one even gets picked on by my live bearers

I wouldnt leave fish in the tank that are getting bullied, or bullying others, personally.

Ok, dieses (or anyone who can help) ive decided I'm gonna add another internal, im ready to add it now, how do I add it? Do I just put new media? Or do I have to put media from my other filter?

I'm fairly certain you can just add the new media with the new filter and be okay, you may have a small ammonia spikes while the new colony set up. I would take some if the old media and mix it in with new stuff to speed up the process. This may also reduce ammonia spikes? Not totally sure, hopefully someone can back me up or tell me I'm wrong lol.

What are the dimensions of the tank?
How long has it been running?
Temperature? pH?

All of the above contribute to what fish you can have. If you can answer those, we might be able to help more.

Personally, I dont think a U4 internal is really strong enough for all of that. Its only rated up to 240ltrs, and yours it 340. Its "turnover rate" is only 2.9x per hour (U2 flow is 1000lph, divided by 340 = 2.9 times per hour). You want to be aiming in the region of 5-10x turnover per hour, so you could ideally do with something with a flow rate of 1700lph + for all of those fish.

If you want to add a new internal (i would vote just keeping both as spares/hospital tank filters, and go for a strong external) just take a third to half of the original media from the U4, and put it in the new one. Dont move either filter for 6-8 weeks, while they re-colonise.

Looks as if everyone else has already spotted the other little bits!

I would also agree that a U4 is not sufficient. Not for the tank size and certainly not for the bioload. You need a good sized external for that tank.

That link shows me a pic of an albino Chinese algae eater Gyrinocheilus aymonieri. Will get very large and aggressive, and may develop a taste for other fish's slime coats; especially slow moving, flat sided fish like gouramis.
