Well all my old pictures are gone I guess. Silly Photobucket.

anyway. I recently broke the tank down and moved it into the basment. It gave me a chance to rescape it and trip all the giant huge rooted swords. I think it survived the move well.

OLD STUFF
Well here was my tank and I just got it set up to cycle.

I had some really cool plans but they were smashed when i actually got around to handling slate. Anyway, I ended up going with river rock. the whole bunch cost me about $50. anyway, now I am just waiting for it to cycle.

BTW, I decided to go with an all glass hood. :D it is spiffy.

What was wrong with the slate?

Neal

Well I don't want a whole pallet of it (which is all I could find around here) and it would be hard to make cliffs and such from it.

Well, I got about 5 pallets of free slate from a builders centre, and all you have to do is smash them up with a hammer (says he who hasn't done it yet). I'm getting the slates from my dads tommorow and i'll be hammering them in the yard.

Well guys It has been along time.. I got my tank cycled and then had to go on vacation and I had some cycle maintenance to correct some ammonia levels. luckily it was not too much of a wait till the tank was back in working order. Anyway I recently got an all-glass hood and a 96 watt hood light and a 200 watt heater.. Three days ago I added fish and today I got even more fish since the ammonia levels were kept in check. Today I also added some water wisteria clippings, I have some algae moss balls on the way and hopefully that will keep algae in check till my wisteria growing tank has produced some nice stocks (It is just a tank outside with a cling wrap top, cheap co2 generator and bell diffuser. :/ with some substrate fert. and fish food for ammonia) oh! I also added a old giant clam shell I bought in some antique store. I hope to ge those pour cories plants soon...

Stocking:
6 Pepper Cories
7 Shwartz Cories.

Well here is the newest picture, I added 5 foxfrill, 10 anacharis, 7 moneywort, 2 moss balls, alot of wisteria cuttings.

I also added 6 rummynose tetras. they have cute red noses already... I need to clean the bow glass, it is dirty..

also, I am looking for somethgin that will stay low and grow all over.. like a clover or somethgin.. and recommendations?

Cool, you certainly like tall plants! Have you thought about putting some mid height plants between the front of the tank and the elodea, say a small crypt species? Just an idea :)

Yeah i recently ordered some umm.. Glossostigma for the gravel and some Java moss for the tops of a few rocks in the tank.. I don’t plan to keep the anacharis in there very long.. and I suspect the foxfril will die off, it did in my 15 galllon, no other plants died in there.. odd. the wisteria I will keep trimming to keep it low but wide... I also ordered some Contortion Vallis to replace the Anacharis (who will be moving into the goldfish tank as soon as they arrive).. I did get some Cabomba green & purple jsut because it is pretty. and a Pot-Sword-Chain. :look: I like a bunch of tall plants all in one small ish area.. preferable around the filter/heater/co2 diffusing powerhead area. as for middle-ground. I am thinking java ferns or something.. but I really have no luck with keeping them small. my wisteria (which I recently cut) grew to be 28" long in my 15 gallon and they are only supposed to get 18" :/ but as for the moneywort, I just like the way it looks when it is all bunched together.

I dunno... but my tank shall get better and better... over crowded or not haha.

today some pretty plants come with soem algea eatting snails and shrimp!. The Anacharis can then go into my goldfish tank!.

Well today my next round of plants came.. I planted them and oput the anacharis in the goldfish tank... they keep better care of thier plants anyway.. keep the leafs 100% clean. Pictures comign soon.

Your aquarium looks really natural - must be such a lovely tank to sit and watch.

nicely done,

Paul.

Ah, same here - I've got so many plans for mine, but so little money.

It takes me ages to finally get happy with an arrangement in my tank, and then I go and change it again! bah.

I am hopping my glossa carpets and my wisteria bushes out and such.. shoudl look ncie if it does. :) I needd to get an alge eater.
