Right... story so far... I bought this tank around may last year, set it up with white gravel (bad idea), a few fake plants, a white rock (another bad idea) and a few tetras. This tank is a Jewel Rekord 70 which came as supplied with light and filter. Over time my tank matured and i started adding fish little by little. Now i have around 8 black phantom tetras, 2 guppies, 3 scissortails and 2 cories in a fully matured tank (i hope). My parents also have a tank alot larger than mine with spare water for the taking so i had an idea. as i was already getting bored with my community tank, i could transfer these to my parents tank and use my tank for something else. Blank canvas. After a few days of researching and looking around i found my perfect fish; a pair of kribensis. But before adding these to the tank i am think of changing the decor of my tank (completely). I would remove the gravel and add sand (good idea?) and also change my rock for different aquascape; but what? what would my kribs like? and would there be any room for any other tankmates? what tankmates would you recomened? My tank is also prone to plenty of algue to i would resolve this problem before even addind a spoonful of sand  Im really excited about this but i need plenty of guidence.. thanks alot! :hyper:

Hi, the kribs should be fine in there, they like to have plenty of plants, places to hide and maybe a plantpot or half coconut shell - all types of caves basically! You could think of adding maybe a BN pleco in th tank?

Thanks! Would plenty of rocks do the trick.. like build them up to create caves and hiding places? :hyper: Also.. would my fake plants be alright?

have plenty of rockwork and somewhere to lay eggs if you are deciding to breed them also a bristlenose wouldnt be too good if you wanted to breed if not breeding then it would be ok also try and add a couple of live plants if possible they help with nitrate and adds a more natural look to the tank than plastic plants

I think i might do sand ground, and then a rocky aquascape with bogwood as i have heard that they like that. I think i would also keep my fake plants as they look farely natural and are alot cheaper in the long run (would these be fine with the kribs, or would hey eat them?) Good idea? Also, i think that my tank would look bare, could i add other fish and just have these as centerpeices? I dont mean bottom feeders but like tetras (or something similar) of some sort, i realise kribs are chiclids and these are aggressive but are there any exceptions of fish that can mix with them? Also, could i keep my corries? Thank you lots and lots for your help... i look forward to hearing from you :hyper:
