Squeeze a bit of silicone on it, and all would be good.

Yes, I would buy it if the price was right! haha :good:

I don't mean to be negative, but what if the damage is worsened in transit?
you know i was just thinking that this very second!!if i got this tank, i would have to take out my lounge windows to get it in as well, its actually 90x22x24 inch

possibly the price is going to be very good, there is x2 eheim externals and some malawi with it, owner moving country this weekend,i promised myself no more tanks :hyper: my biggest tank at moment is 48x20x22

I'd definatly buy it and patch it with silicone. :good:

In my opinion everything is fixable, even if it's not broken :shifty: :)

I had a second-hand tank that was chipped on two corners, never had a problem with it leaking.
i did cover the areas with silicon more to stop myself getting cut than anything else

from the looks of the picture the bottom is what they call "double based" i think? and is possibly 2 cm thick? i will see it tonight, anybody live near London to help with this or own a Juggernaught to help me transport it LOL

Cheers Wolfy, its just such a big boy, it comes with a purpose made metal stand apparently

I have a 10gallon with some chips on the corner exactly like that, used the tank for years with no problem at all, however with a tank as big as a 7 footer i would probably chuck a load of silicone on the damaged areas just to be on the safe side.

thanks for the quick feedback peeps, i am going to see it in about 30 mins, cant comitt to it tonight anyway, as have to make sure i can get my lounge windows out and organise transport

I am in a small 1-bed ground floor flat, my doors are 6 feet 3 high and 27 inches wide, but i dont think i could get the tank through the hallway and turn?

Also what van would carry a 90" tank, what would you do for transport you guys?

this is advert

Comes with 2 filters; an EHEIM 2217 and an EHEIM Pro, air pump and purpose built metal stand. It is fitted with a 58w 1500mm light, which is currently a white bulb.
The tank measures 7'6" long, 2' high and 22" deep. At the moment it is home to a large number of Malawi Cichlids, a very large female Sailfin Plec (Gibbiceps), an male L256 'sultan'plec and a Red Clawed Australian Lobster.

The Cichlids are:
Labidochromis caeruleus: loads of them, including a couple of very impressive males, many females and lots of fry.
Labidochromis freibergi: 2 males
Fossorochromis rostratus: 1 female
Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus: 1 male
Nimbochromis polystigma: breeding pair
Placidochromis VC 10: Small breeding group with very impressive blue male, only recently coloured up.
There are 2 other breeding groups that I haven't yet identifed, so please bear with me.

i think he wanted £500 for it, but top bid was £155 and he needs it gone by Sunday ( i didnt bid just watched)

PS - pls dont hunt down this tank and gazump me LOL

If you get it... You'll have to send in some pictures of how you progess with it

yeh, and hopefully not pics of a very wet lounge LOL

but of course i will, i still think its a long shot though,

i'd have to sell the x2 Rio 300's in my lounge quick smart to accommodate it, and the transport worries me

The fish alone are easily worth £150, with the filters and other bits its a bargain even without the tank.

As for the tank i've seen worse still holding water, gum it up with silicon and tape the corners with some duct tape once the silicon has dried to prevent any little flakes of glass coming away as they can give really nasty cuts.

For transport any transit sized van will take 7 foot, when you move it tape some polystyrene to the corners, the 4 corner pieces from a broken up poly box are ideal. This will stop any further damage to the corners and stop the tank sliding about in the van.

Tank is 7 foot 6" by the way (90")

just got in, boy you should have seen the fish, amazing specimans, and there is also about 20 Yellow Labs in there, a massive breeding colony, my mate who knows more about Malawi than me, said he's suprised the Yellow Labs are breeding and alive as the all the fish are quite carnvirous.

The Placidochromis VC 10 group is amazing, the look like this http://www.thecichlidsite.com/sitebuilderc..._milomo_01c.jpg

There also another similar hap, some kind of Nimbochromis, like he's been dusted with gold?

Overall there has to be x10 4-6" Nimbochromis types in there, very nice coloured

He wants £300 for the lot,

right now i am trying to get a transit, some help and also work out if i have to take my lounge windows out or can get in through my hallway. My lounge windows look like they might come out pretty easy, they are quite old fashioned, with one big pane of glass that is about 3 foot x 3 foot square with a 2 bolts each side half way down. It opens up (and outwards) into a complete horizontal position.

I am pretty sure actually i cant get it through my hallway and into the lounge.

Gosh, it would replace 2 nice Rio 300's with cabinets in my lounge, i am sure i could get £150-200 each for them with some fish thrown in, which means i could do all this and not cost me a penny, overall.

I would happily pay someone to help, gosh its the WINDOWS that are key!!!!!!!
