Fish Crazy
I live in Sacramento and I have a few fish tanks. I guass the first fish i got was a beta named Speckle. He's gone now, but I still have my second fish, a clear yellow guppy with orange tail, named Jill. I acyually got Jack O'Lantern at the same time but he died, so i eplaced him with another Jack- another orange tailed snakeskin guppy and added Fuego- a tuxedo male, Dot, a spotted rainbow tailed female, peaches, who died the next day, and Tiger- an Endler's livebearer. Jill had a few kids, but Dot had about 50 a month for 4 months. Since she died I've never had more than 3 new babies show up at a time. After the firs huge batch of fry i divided the 10 gallon tank, but Tiger was so small he could get through or around the barrier and they needed more space anyway, so I put the girls in two 10 gallon tanks and the boys in a 30 gallon tank, which I always intended to be my comunity tank. I also have 2 betas- Frosty and Sparkle and a 20 galon tank with 5 gold fish and a golden mystery snail. I actually got Cracker (common goldfish) and Creamsicle (red and white commet sold as feeder) right after Jill, but Chicken (red capped Oranda) and Nugget (brownish gold fantail) came about a year later and Puppy (shubunkin) is still fairly new. I have an otto in each girl tank and 4 danios in the boy tank- 1 leopard, 1 longfin zebra and 2 golden longfin zebras.
I finally set up a deliberate breeding tank which has it's first ocupants- Jill, because this could be her last chance and she's so pretty and about 2 years old, Shadow, my largest guppy and one of Dot's first kids, Alba, my largest blonde guppy, a female gupler, and Bright- the first snakeskin guppy born in my house and the only one left. They never were as abundant as my other types, but 2 of them died recently and I wanted at least one of them to have a chance. I actually tried Max, my largest snakeskin, in a breeder box with Pepper, who was almost as big as Shadow, but it Didn't work out. Anyway most of what I have are hybrids not much bigger than your average Endler, but there are about as many tuxedo patterned ones as traditional Endler markings and 4 are tiny blonde guys and there are a few with other types of markings. They're all pretty good looking.
So that's my aquatic critters for now. I named a few of the others, but not all.
