Hi guys,

Having had the last underwater empire of mine crash and burn - my fault i didnt let the filter mature enough and add too many fish at once, i have now cycled my tank again and added two plants:

Bacopa monnieri and a plant that was sold in my lfs as 'bunched plant', its leaves are green on the top, and a reddy/pinky colour on the underside. So far the tanks inhabitants are: 2 mollies, one black mollie, and 1 dalmation mollie both only about 4cm in length. Im now looking to add some more fish to the tank after xmas, however im worried about overstocking the tank and losing the lot again.
Water changes are done every two weeks with a 20% partial change, although im happy to up the % change if a small amount of overstocking occurs. Im thinking of adding the following:

3 guppies (2 female, 1 male)
2 dwarf gourami's (possibly ????)
6 cardinal tetras
and then keep the two mollies i have.

If this is too much for my tank could you please advise me on what other fish i could put in the tank, my only main requirements are that they are easy to keep and are peaceful.

I understand it is chrismas eve so all help appreciated.

Thanks
Dan.

Merry Christmas to all

Mollies shouldent really be in a 6 gal -_- .
If i were you i would stock with small fish such as microrasboras, pygmy corydoras, otocinclus and don't forget there are plenty of shrimp out there. But it depends on what type of water you have, your pH? :) .
If you get the guppys, you will get too many babies, so unless you have somewhere for them to go, i would avoid mixing males and females.

Pets at home advise again dont ya just love it.

Erm considering i only have some litmus paper i obtained (nicked) from school i dont get very good results however i do understand most chemistry stuff and ona rough guess from the paper its about 7-8.

On the note about guppies is it possible to have only female because my last experiance with them wasnt enough females and they became tired very easily and the males were always fighting. might have to look into microrasboras and pygmy corydoras.

Thanks again

Dan
