620-700 Litre Tank

Hi,
does anyone know a good brand for tanks 620-700 litres, im looking for your personal opinion on the setup, aquascape, lights, gravel ect

this is my list of fish so far (in which i mean it may need a few adjustments)

X1 BGK
X4 Clown Loaches
X1 Zig Zag Eel
X1 Peacock Eel
X2 Scarlet Pleco
X1 Armoured Bichir
X3 Black Marble Angelfishs

if its too much stocking adjust it a bit, if its not a good tank mate plz!

I'd drop the zig-zag and go for 3 senegal bichir instead - mine were very active in a small group like that.

Yeah, thats true thanx for the info in the past threads, now on to the actual question we were gettin a bit carried away there, mmmmm o yes what aquascape, amount of rocks, ect... Ive seen small jet black grains of gravel in many tanks would it be ok in mine; i read aqualand pets plus website (try it out) it explains that the bgk will bleach out with this gravel colour is this 100% true?

to be honest, when you get to these types of sizes, why not consider having a custom made tank.

i did this after going through a few small tanks 'well, normal size tanks'. I then saved up and had a near 1000ltr tank custom
made to my spec - i had black silicon and bevelled edges etc.

in respect to the decor...well, that is down to your ideas.....i love marine tanks, but dont have the time to maintain one, i then styled the tank on a marine set...vid below....just let your imagination go wild

fishless is better as ure not harming the fish.

8inary seen you post the link to your tank a few times never got round to clicking on it , nice tank looks marine but with out the expensive costs.

Definitely fishless cycle - see if you can get some mature filter media from someone near you or even your LFS to speed it up.

I have black pea gravel in my 5ft with my small BGK and it is fine however I also like a nice 'natural' looking tank.

What sort of budget are going to have for this tank? Total budget for everything - tank, filters, heating, fish and decor as well as any other bits and pieces. Knowing your budget will help us advise you.

A custom tank will be expensive while a 2nd hand 'off the shelf' will be a lot cheaper but probably a bit smaller.

Have you checked your floors will handle the weight? And, have you looked into the additional running costs - electricity, water (especially if you are on a water meter) and food.

These things are worth planning for as running a big tank is not cheap and could affect your final choices and stock.

haha without the expensives costs lol - well, to a degree yes ive avoided certain costs. However, I have spent a lot on this tank
there is circa 80kg of coral sand, £350 worth of fake coral 'hand painted...high grade' - other fake soft corals. the cost of the tank
itself, £500 on the hood lights and electrics to it - 20 sockets trunked in the base on the tank - 3 large canister filters, uv, x2 300w heaters,
hmm and various others things.......so, maybe a bit cheaper than a marine....maybe not that much cheaper lol

ahh didn't think fake ones would cost so much! but then again im sure the live rock etc for a tank that size would be out of the world ..

depends on the quality - ive found tmc rock the best as i understand it is molded and hand painted to look similar to fuji rock.

it comes in many various shapes and sizes and each bit can cost between £15 to £50....i ended up buying circa £350 worth and
the siliconed into a shaped set up......you have to laugh at the price though...silly money and yes, I agree, this much rock in
real with all the bits on it...coral etc would look unreal

Have you got your current tank cycled? You could probably get a really cheap filter and shove it in there, and this will generate mature media to put in the filter of the new tank when you get it (to greatly speed a fishless cycle).

That's one huge tank, stocking sounds great.
A journal thread is always a good idea.
