Hi everyone, at the moment in my 60 litre I have 10 rummynose tetras and some shrimp. Is this the limit or could I have some more fish? I was thinking of adding maybe 3 guppies, would this be okay or should I just leave it?

If that is too many fish, could I get a couple of snails? If so, what kind?

Thanks in advance. :)

Snails are a fantastic addition to any tank. I'll leave the stocking question to another member but I do know snails don't add much at all to the bio-load of the tank so even if you are stocked, a few snails wouldn't hurt.
You could have ago at finding some Nerite snails, these can be commonly found under the name Zebra Snail among a few others. Their eggs are unable to hatch in fresh water so you will not become over run with them if they do decide to spawn!

These three are the top three I see most in fish shops :)

I'd say the Rummynose are fully stocking it now and maybe even overstocking it. I personally wouldn't keep Rummynose in any less than 100l as they are active fish and grow to 2in long.

You could add a Nerite Snail if you'd like or some more shrimp(what shrimp do you have already?) :)

Agreed, I have 15 in my 400 litre and they look amazing, schooling as they cruise the tank. I can't imagine much schooling behaviour in a 60 litre tank, which means you loose what is possibly the best reason to get these fish.

Exactly my reasoning. I've seen some impressive set-ups with Rummy-Nose in, all of which were over 100l and they do look amazing when exhibiting the natural shoaling behaviour in a big tank :)

Thanks for the replies, I am thinking about some nerite snails now. :)

I understand that they are really active and I probably should have got other fish, but I have them now. I have Amano shrimp and I love them! :D

They actually show a lot of schooling behaviour, including chasing each other about playfully and sticking together all the time.

Once again, thanks for the replies! :)

These 10 Rummynose Tetras deserve an upgrade to at least a 90cm long tank, you already overstocking the 60l by some margin.

So I'm not the only one who would like them in a bigger tank? I thought it was just me...
