Yeah, it was free and it was very nice.

To be honest though, I think my Dad enjoyed it more than I did. I spend so much time looking at planted aquarium lay-outs that nothing there really surprised me. Actually, a lot of the tanks there had pretty much no creativity. It's like Amano just threw them together to be demonstrations of how Amano equipment/concept works.

Astounding to people who've never seen planted aquariums before. For me it felt nice but a bit plain.

Edit: Let me also say that is was in the middle of no-where!! Nothing but rice paddies for miles around, and none of the Japanese I talked to had ever heard about it!

verry nice, i love the thin branches, excellent job!

Glad you liked it Qays-- I managed to get some shots of the Columbian Tetras so enjoy!

BEAUTIFUL TANK! im planning a tank and hope mine looks this nice :D

mm.. didn't I jsut look at this on that other forum or was it this one.. de ja vu!

anyway.. nice tank man 0_o jaw dropping.. I like the geography of the tank.. not just a plain flat thing with a few rocks.. stunning.

Looking good Steven, I'm looking forward to seeing the progression of this aquascape. It's looking a bit 2D at the moment but hopefully once the growth thickness out it'll create depth.
Amazing pics of the Tetra's. 8)

Edit: I've just realized why it looks flat to me, there's no mysterious path leading off the beach or hidden cave to draw curiosity, the need to look closer. I don't know if I'm making sense here..... Read into what you will.

I messed around a bit with the camera today to practice for tomorrow-- stay tuned for a full tank shot! :D

Those pictures are absolutley amazing, the best I've seen here! They look very natural. Oh to have a 1/10000th of your ability! :D

looking very nice! ive been looking at these little Rasboras (Doriocellata) in my LFS and am tempted now. They look great in your tank! A little algae growth on the lava rocks I notice, are you adding ferts yet?

look forward to full tank shot :)

What a lovely planted tank, good job... HOpe to see more pic posted. Well done!

Did you silicone your lava rocks together? I really want to copy off your effect. Did you silicone some sand onto the rocks aswell? Did you fill in any gaps in the rocks with silicone? I'm very puzzled at how you set out the rocks, without the sand falling through, or the rocks falling down. How did you keep it in place at the sides? How did you get your water in, was it using a collander or something?
