Hi Guys,

I want to put a 5KG CO2 fire extinguisher system onto my 450L tank.....does anybody know vaguely how often it'll need to be refilled? I don't need an exact length, just - is it a matter of weeks...or months?

Thanks!

my 2kg lasted me 4 months in my 330L tank so yours should last longer altho is a bigger tank so I'm going to guess 4 to 8 months

Brilliant! Do you use a solonoid valve for switching off at night? I will, so I presume at the least a refill once a quarter...thats very cheap....after the initial outlay for the equipment. I have this cylinder is mind : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-5KG-CO2-FIRE-EXTINGUISHER-CHROME-FAST-Shipping-/281238490288?pt=UK_Fire_Extinguishers&hash=item417b1eccb0

And this regulator : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281302314716?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2648

I want to get the pleasant looking cylinder filled and not swapped/replaced......do you know who fills? I've tried local Calor and they just replace.....my LFS can probably advise too, I'll be going there later.

they both are fine, and yes i do uses a solenoid connected to a timer i have yet to have a single cylinder refilled tbh, my old tank i bought 3 x 2kg canisters and never got them filled up again, now i just have 2 x 2kg but i do plan to get one filled when it runs out and the other is spare whilst its being refiled but sadly i have no idea where or how to fill them :(
