5g Tank

US or UK gallons?

If you work on 1cm of total fish length per litre lets round the tank size to 20 litres and say 20cm of fish.

What tetra do you want?

Many tetra are delicate and need a well matured tank post cycling of approx 5-6 months old imho. Neons especially.

If it were matured I'd go for a group of 5 neons or 6 or 7 green neons which are even smaller but just as nice.
Other tetra you'd possibly be a bit more limited to as all of them prefer to be in groups of 6 minimum to feel secure :D

depends on the kind of tetras you want personally i think 5g is to small as most are very active fish and need to be kept in groups
what about a betta?
regards scot :good:

A single male betta on it's own would be perfect for atank of that size with a nice bit of filtration in, I agree :D

most tetras need a minimum of 10 gallons so your choice is limited as to what you can have in there

5g is too small for tetras - not enough swimming space - they need more like 10-15 gallons minimum.

I agree with the Betta option for a 5g instead.

aaaaaaaaaaaw, US G. and yeee..

Its a nice roomy tank. I thought tetras could fit. (Neons, Blacks and Glow lights, maybe rummy noses, thats what I was aiming for.)

it's not a roomy tank sadly. sit it next to a genuinely roomy 30-40 gallon or larger and you'll see the problem.

all shoaling species in generall are very active so no tetras im afraid. only a betta or a handfull of guppies say 4.

but me is thinking SHRIMP TANK

This isnt for me, for my friend. turns out he already bought three tetra. Should he just get more? the seem very active, and tons of room left.

y'know i just noticed almost all of my friends who start the fish business SCREW UP :

.___. wooow.
