Hi, I have a solid wood 5ft x 2ft x2ft aquarium for sale. This tank is new and has not been used. I am based in Birmingham UK.

The tank is lovely but i am unable to keep it due to the poor practicality of maintaining such a large tank during my degree.

Any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I am looking for £800 or a reasonable offer for this aquarium. Remember that this tank is unused and new.

You might want to rethink your asking price.
You can get a new and delivered 5'x2'x2' tank from ND Aquatics for £669.

You know you can buy these on ebay for 240 for just the tank and a cabinet isn't expensive, just a thought you might wanna drop the price cos it wont sell mate.

Thought peeps wernt meant to comment on people selling stuff unless there interested? If its solid wood its gonna cost.

I will comment, and I'm not interested, but only because I don't have anywhere to put it. Personally, I think it's a lovely piece of furniture and solid wood does come at a price. I'm glad there are people out there making higher end cabinets.

The only similar system I can think of is the MA seashell stuff, which would come in at more than the asking price. Yes you can buy a tank and cabinet for less, but you can't buy the furniture that this represents for less, so good luck with selling this one.

What type of wood is it? Those MA ones are oak (hence the price); this looks more like plywood.

i read this as oak for some reason. looks like your normal soft wood not that im saying anything lol

Found this thread of the OP's   http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/413896-diy-5ft-aquarium-stand/#entry3483893 - his last entry reads

It's pine/spruce, sanded and rubbed with beeswax. The last picture is before the sanding by the way.
It took ALOT of wood to make, as it has several vertical and horizontal supports designed to support such a large tank. it is made entirely out of 4x2" thick wood so is a chunky (and HEAVY) felllow. At a guess, i would say the wood cost about £110-150 (that is for the price of the hood too), it took plenty of large wood screws which were surprisingly large expense too.
I'm open to offers, remember that the tank is get to be filled, it's brand spanking new and ready to go complete with solid wood stand and hood.
I should also point out the gap in the middle two doors, those doors are being changed tomorrow, so will be gap free!
