Hiya Guys & Gals.

I've got a 5 gallon tank that's been sat empty in my room for a few months now. It's play-sand substrate, filtered with two Red-Sea Nano filters (rated 2.5 gallons each) although I've also got an AquaClear20 and a few other filters kicking around in my spare equipment bin. Tank has florescent lighting. The tank was previously used to house a pair of bettas (divided) and then later to house a single betta. After the passing of that betta, I've decided that I no longer wish to keep bettas and was looking for something different.

Looking for some stocking suggestions. I know my options are limited due to size, but what would YOU suggest?

Celestial pearl danios are small, you could have maybe 6 of those, or boraras brigittae , or ember tetras.
Shrimp would also be great in that tank

You can have: 3 platties, guppies, or swordtails. Or one of each (just know that if you house platties and swordtails together, they will mate together). OR, ONE Paradise fish. THey are soooo cool!

no to all of them :/ Swords need a 30gal tank due to size, IMO gups and platies need 15gal min.

A dwarf puffer would work

I agree; all those fish are quite chunky and need something bigger than a 5 gallon. All male guppies or Endlers might work though.

Yep, with enough plants/wood etc.

Or dwarf emerald rasboras?
