just clairifying, i just found one for 80$ with some accessories, now i just gotta convince my mom to let me have the extra $50 for it

so my question is, will this tank work for mbuna, it is a 4 foot tank its just shorter then a 55 gallon

thanks

As long as it's a 4ft it should be ok, you can stock it like a 55gal with tons of filtration, or I'd just drop to two species (6 of each), that way you can really see them interact.

:fun: I love this hobby!!! such diverse opinions are everywhere, and thats good!!

a 48 is too small for my liking, you always have to take into consideration the adult size
of the fish male or female and then add in the aggression.
now dwarf cichlids do peachy!!!

Your tank dimensions will be OK if you avoid the larger species and also the more aggressive species. I'd reccommend looking at the likes of P.Saulosi, P.Socolofi and C.Afra and aim for something around 8-10 fish - perhaps 4 or 5 of each from 2 species. :good:

i would like to have afra and sonthing maybe red/orange and yellow, i was thinking maybe 4 C.afra either chitande, cobue, likoma, or msobo, also 4 labidocromis caeruleus, and 3 metriaclima estherae(red)

how does that sound

and does anyone know of a good online retailer that ships africans to canada, my lfs has high prices and is the only lfs in town
