45 Gal

What are the dimensions? Because if it is tall enough I would get a pair of angels, and put a school of hatchet fish or Harlequin rasboras, or a school of head and tail glo light tetras.(Sorry if I have the tetra name wrong, it confuses me  )

Hi.....

Note: You don't have to do this (of course).

Looks -

- It would look nice if you had sand instead of gravel.
- Making it planted will also make it look nice/nicer.
- Some wood. Look at "All Types of Wood" (I think) by "The - Wolf".
- Stones, not sharp.

Filters, air stones etc. -

- I would go for a external filter.
- A 5"/......." air stone will give oxygen and give nice looking bubbles.
- A heater.

Fish -

- 6 Neon Tetras.
- 2 - 3 Corydoras.

And you could put some more fish in.....

Mudskipper tank?? Or mabye an tiger barb species tank?

its tall and wide not a good mudskipper, tiger barbs maybe thinking about it

I've always wanted a tank centered around tiger barbs, go for it. :good:

i agree. a couple of angels, a school of marble hatchets and 5-6 corys of some kind. maybe some pictus cats

OK so far my idea is

6 panda corys
some kind of schooling fish-can anyone help me out here(no Neons)
some kind of center peice fish-need some help(angel fish are a little over used so something else would be nice
2 rams or keyhole cichlids
etc maybe a pleco of some kind
need some help thanks

angels,Rams,Cories, barbs, mollies and many more types .

if you don't wanna do angels then neons are ok. for a center piece why not a moonlight, pearl or opaline gourami? marble hatchets or harlaquin/lambchop rasboras would be ok for schooling. hatchets like the top of the tank. and for a pleco... a couple of clowns or a gold nugget?

6. something, ya i have everthing i need

45 Gal(cycled)
Heater
overfiltered

With that nice low pH, I would be going for tetra type fish. My favourite shoalers, and a bit bigger than the other tetras are the congos. Beautiful colours, and lively fish! An alternative to them would be rainbowfish.

Then what about some cories julii for the bottom, or loaches. I am choosing the julii's as they can be in somewhat warmer water, around 24 -25 degrees (sorry, I'm a metric person!).

As a centrepiece, you can take dwarf cichlids, or any other south american cichlid. You can also choose gouramis (another of my favourites), just don't take dwarfs as these are prone to diseases due to inbreeding.

ANd for the top area some killifish. I would love to have the A. australe, a bright orange fish, and not too difficult for beginners.

Sounds like my ideal tank; I am working on a 180 litr4es (47 gallon) tank at the moment.
