4'2'2, Stocking Ideas!

got a completly empty 4ft fish tank that im looking on stocking (tropical) the only must have is a center fish if it were to that tank, a larger then your normal guppys etc as this is by far my biggest tank that i would have ever had so not really had any larger fish largest being a dwarf gourami lol

not sure if it matters to what fish i could get but will have an external filter and LED lighting most probably (got to work lighting out abit).
gravel as substrate so no fish that need sand

so suggest away

might be fun to see what sort of things people have

if your using gravel and have a tank that size, why not go cichlid?

i guess it depends what you into you could have a devly planted tank with loads of shoaling fish with an angel as the center piece or the road i'd go down would be something like this :

3 musk turtles
3 silver dollars
4 dwarf gourami's
12 harlequin rasbora
4 dalmation mollies
1 gold nugget pleco - this could be your centre peice


i'm not mega sure on the mollies but over than that i wold go with that stock with a sand substrate with a few live plants,i would also add cave systems and a 3d background to get a really good look,i hope this helps

oh and i had to put the 3 musk turtles as clawed frogs in the FishForums.net because there similar sized and produce around the same waste ,the musk will be fine with fish but you must provide rest spots such as bog wood near the surface so they can take a breath also you will require a turtle dock but both these are easy to provide and well worth it as i have 2 turtles in my CA tank and there my favorite,besides my dog the turtles have the best character out of everything.

More like three or four in a 4ft tank, 10 would be seriously pushing it! How many gallons is it? Do you like angels or gouramis? Or cichlids perhaps?
