I getting my new 400 litre tank this weekend, it's been on order for a month now and it's finally getting delivered!
The manufacturer website says it holds 361 litres. It's 5ftx1.5ftx2ft. I work that out as over 400 litres? Am i correct? Would this be safe upstairs?
I have no room downstairs, i read a lot about it online before I ordered the tank and everything I read said it wil be fine on a flat base, no legs and nearest the wall. I'm starting to panic now and I'm having second thoughs.
Can anyone reassure me?

60inchs / 24inches / 18inches = 425 litres

60 . 24 . 15 inches = 354 litres

as to the weight issues, um what type of build? is it new build, see im first floor flat and very lucky cos have concrete floors, what iam thinking is a bath is usually on first floor full with water and a avarage mans weight you have some serious weight there? but i could not and wont comment for sure mate, sorry but there are some guys here who will know,

425lts is 425kg an average man weighs around 80kg and a bath full of water weighs around the same after the displacement from the 80kg human so thats 160kg which is about 1/3 plus the tanks more likely to weigh around 475kg with the weight of glass, cabinet and substrate hope you have got strong floors

I would say it depends completely upon the house, on some newer houses I can actually feel the floor flexing as I stand on them. I would be very cautious if I were you.

It's a 1940s semi detached house. The floors are pretty sturdy.
If I jump up and down my current fish tank only has little movemet in the water. :p haha.
I'm starting to get pretty worried now though :/
we will see how it goes anyway.
I'll try and get some pics up when it's all set up properly. I'm using it for turtles though, not fish. Many of you may find it pretty boring :)

That sounds pretty worrying tbh! I dont think I would risk 400litres. And comparing it to a bathtub is pointless, baths are only full for an hour max, it's a completely different story having that much weight on the floor constantly.

i have a 38 ukg / 175l tank in my room and its pretty sturdy. my home is a 10 year old house, put up in haste! floor boards are chip board as far as i know with supports etc underneath.

i did however put a piece of hardboard under the carpet to spread the weight out a little.

Ha ha, I'm worried about my floor too! I will have a 60l tank upstairs (house about 25 years old) and I'm also worried it's too much weight!
