3X 2Ft Aquarium Racking Concept

Hi all,

Just wanted to share my conceptual racking for 3 2ft tanks.

Main structure is 1/4" steel box section and overall height is approx.

All comments and suggestions accepted as it's all work in progress.

Hi there Graphictart.
I like the basic approach you are using. I find that a mere 15 cm for the height of the bottom shelf is enough in my own builds. I build from wood so I can't comment on the steel tubing strength, I have no gut feel for the strength of steel. I would definitely set things up to distribute the tanks' weight across the entire area that the stand occupies. That way you don't leave holes or dips in the underlying floor.
