38g Stocking?

Hello everyone

Currently I have a 38g aquarium which is well planted with fake plants. The aquarium has just fished cycling a few days ago and contains 5 tiger barbs, which were use to cycle. I was thinking of adding cardinal tetras next and was wondering how many I could add at one time without having a cycle relapse?

Any ideas?

The biological filter of your tank can double in about 24 hours, but it would be best to start off adding only about 2-3 small fish per week at first just to make sure things have stabilized. What I will caution you about however is that tiger barbs have a reputation for being quite nippy, and while sometimes keeping them in a big enough group will keep their aggression more focused to each other...that doesn't always work, so be very cautious about the tank mates that you choose for them.
