More pics to come!

No, but make sure you take a photo diary of you setting up your tank, and put it all up in this thread.

Hi adam,

I have a 90cm x 50cm x 30cm which is pretty close to what you've ordered. If you look at my posts I think there are a couple of photos. But it's inside a cupboard (you'll see what I mean).

Thanks guys for the replies. ;)
Jules, i will make a diary of me setting up my tank. Nice idea.
Andy, ill check out your tank.
And thanks for the pic, Funky.

;) Thanks again.

Very nice tank. Looks nice. I liked the clown loaches they are gr8.

Just cleaned the sand, although it looks really grey! Will this cause a problem? It looks white in the bag but when combined with water it turns quite dark (looks more like cement).
I bought the playsand from argos as ive heard good things about it.

Tomorrow i shall clean the tank, and wash another half a bucket of sand. Although i need some furniture in my room moving around before i can implement the tank. But it will be complete by thursday. I am then going to leave the tank for around two weeks before adding new fish, i am currently after a spiny eel! I also saw, when picking up the tank, a handful of armoured shrimp. Which will be my next buy.
Any thoughts on other future stock? Keep in mind im increasing the numbers of neons, cories, and loaches.

Thank you, Zoe.
I thought it was going to stay that colour!

How much was the sand? In my argos cataloge the only snad i can see is £2.50 for a 2.5kg bag!!
I'm thinking about swapping my gravel for sand next year as I think it looks alot nicer.
How deep does the sand need to be? what are the fors and againsts with sand? and are you going to put any other substrarte under the sand to help plants?

Cheers Brads :good:

Hi, well i got my 15kg playsand frrom argos for 2.50. Are you sure you read it correctly? Sand should be approx 1" deep, but if you have a planted tank 1.5-2". ;)
Well the sand is alot smoother, and also is a must for most catfish. As it doesnt wear their barbs. (it should also be used for spiny eels, and horseface loaches). Not sure what to put under the substrate, maybe ask in the planted tank section? :good:

Another update! 8/11/07

Well the tank is almost complete, and i have alot of pics.
Just a few questions, i 'power-showered' the filter, and decor! By mistake of course, will my tank have to re-cycle? I also put my hand in the tank, when i just washed my hands/arms with soap. I then rinsed them lightly but they still 'smelt' of soap? Will this effect the fish in anyway? (e.g. blindness etc) or will it simply dilute down into nothing. (Their was nothing in the tank after i put my hands, e.g. whiteness, bubbles) so im assuming its ok?
