So are you saying that I should get 2-3 pairs of Rams and no angelfish OR a pair or angelfish and 2-3 pairs of Rams? What would you suggest? I think both are very beautiful so either would do. I also have another question for you....So I have very very soft water and I've been gradually raising the KH to help get my PH at more suitable level for community fish, BUT now that I've decide to make that tank an Angel or Rams tank I'm worried that the PH and KH will fluctate when I do my weekly water changes. I was just wondering if I just stopped raising the KH now and let the water just go to it's origanal acidity would that be better than having to juggle with the KH and PH powders all the time? I have East Bay Mudd water and it has like close to nothing KH....and when I don't add anything my PH is the lowest on the chart 6.0 ....I'm not sure it is probably lower, but it's off the chart.
Can low KH harm the fish like low or high PH can? I just want to do whats best if I go through with angels or rams...

A couple pairs of Blue Rams instead of angelfish, I think a ram species tank looks better. I keep a group of 5 females in a 30g with no problems they all get along, just make sure you provide plenty of caves and crevices for them to claim territory. Angels can become aggressive towards the other fish. Keep your pH stable, 6 is good, when you start getting below 5 then it becomes a problem for your fish. Not sure about water hardness. Let us know what you go with.
thanks for all the advice! Also.....Do you think I could do 3 pairs or would that be pushing it? And I was wondering if there are any intersting tank mates they could have...or should i do a species tank.....hummmmm? want color...cuz I only have fake plants .......and some intersting fish might make my tank more attractive. I was thinking some schooling fish that are colorful....and maybe used to acidic water lots of stuff to ask what do you think about Harliquinns ?
I've had a couple live plants before and they all turned transparent and died so I thought it would be less of a hassle to just have fake plants. I really would love to have live plants but I'm just trying to focus on the health of the fish first.... where do get java ferns, anubias, and java moss? how tall are they and how fast do they grow?
