36" Tank...

Hi all,

I've aquired a cheap 36" aquarium (and a 24" one too as a matter of fact ;P) with hood etc.

I'm already running a number of small tanks.

There's been a jouvenile Polypteris at my local pets at home for some months now (there were four, but only one left), he's currently in qith a couple of parrot cichlids in an 18inch tank.

I know 36" isn't huge, but, as an interesting fish, could I keep a single one in a 36" tank with nothing else?

Any thoughts (also, though I am researching it, whats the best tank setup for one of these? - so far I've found 25-29'C, planted, with hiding places, I would probably go with plastic plants in this one for ease of mainainance).

Feeding wise, is it a case of cichlid pellets (carnivore ones) with occasional treats of prawn/earth worms?)

What are the other Dimensions? ideally as long as it is at least 36" x 15" x 15" then IMO it will be ok for either a senegal or palmas bichir

generally IME they like plants hanging near the surface, my tank has multiple plants hanging down from the brace bars where my polys generally swim amongst.
