im setting up a 35 gallon tank and this is what im thinking for my stocking

1) 2 blue ram (maybe german)
2) 1 bristlenose pleco
3) 5 sunset platy
4) 5 molly
(i would like to add one more species to the tank ?)
they are ordered 1 = fish i care about most - 4= lower priority

the tank will have the aqua clear 50 and a heater, accoring to ##150### this would put me at 100% stocking, 100% filter compacity, &29% water change.

the notes said

Suggestion: If you want to keep more than 1 Molly, minimum recommend male to female ratio is 1:2 (M:F). You will be less likely to experience problem if you get even more females.

and the same for platy.

so i was thinking i guess i could do 3 of each type to that ratio and let them breed a little then put in the blue rams for population control?

other fish i looked at and liked: bloodfin tetra, various cichlid, and black skirt tetra.

so if you guys could post stocking adeas from this then it would be very appreciated, also looking for opponions on what order and quanityt should i put fish into the tank? (likely will be doing fish in cycling).

thanks in advance if you actually read this long post and attempt to help me

I'd be careful about "various" cichlids... If I had to go with another cichlid in that group, I think your best bet is apistogrammas.

Apistogrammas might be better than rams actually, if you wanted to have more than 2 fish total. Rams will pair off, and the footprint might not be big enough for two pairs of rams. On the other hand, apistos are more of a harem fish, one male with a large territory that overlaps several females smaller territories. You might be better off with a group of 4 apistos, 1 m: 3f than 4 rams or even 2 rams and 2 apistos.

Just a thought... Either way, fry are going to be happening in your tank. I hope you have a plan for them.

im slightly confused wouldnt 2 ram make 1 pair of rams? interesting i can look at see if my local fish stores sell them but im not sure . so they are the same thing as dwarf cihilid?

could i just swap my 2 rams for 4 of them ?

and wont they eat their own fry ?

also what order should i add them into the tank

in regardys to the molly and platy should i got 2f:1m or shoudl i get them all male or female?
