I have a 30g with only a few residents in it and wondered if anyone might have some ideas!
It's running on an external eheim and an internal fluval (only a small one that). Currently in there are my synodontis angelicus and 3 female bettas.
I'd really like another catfish but one angelicus won't bully as he did with my synos in the 55g.
Obviously all must be ok to put with the bettas too, although they are all kind natured and don't so much as squabble amongst themselves.
It's a sand substrate with hiding places (big rock cave wall thing and bamboo tunnel). Few live plants but more soon.
Hugs,
P.

6 JD's, and 6 Oscers
:grr:

They complament your tank nicely.... :p

You don't realy have room in there for more catfish. The s. angelicus can grow to 8" and will become territorial both with each other and with other bottom-dwellers kept in a tank of only 30 gallon capacity. At most I'd get a couple more female bettas or something mid-dwelling like that and keep in mind that you'll need to move the angelicus out in time if you plan to keep all 3. If you insist on a catfish option because the angelicus are still young and you already have plans to move them out (and only then), a small-growing plec like a bristlenose would be a possibility as most are ignored and stay out of the way of other catfish as long as they have a place to hide themselves.

The other synos aren't in the 30! They live in a 55. The angelicus is the ONLY cat in the 30 with the 3 female bettas. Which I'm sure I said.
Very droll Ethos. Pointless but at least you responded I guess.

Edit:And he's not far off full grown already.

try a nice school of glowlight danios danio choprae or dwarf danios danio nigrofasciatus

for bottom dwellers corys should be ok with the syno but avoid the smaler ones like pandas, pygmys etc.
maybe, if you can find them, try one of the brochis species as they are a bit bigger than cories.
