Well, the new 3 foot tank is here and will soon be set up. Inhabitants to go in will be:

5 pim pictus
5 milky way woodcats (Tatia galaxius)
4 ABF
5 Clown loach (to grow out as the limas will eat them soon)
1 tyre track eel (see above)
5 Platydoras costatus
3 spotted doradids (note the two doradid numbers are apporximate, I bought this many, but haven't seen them in ages...)
1 Rainbow Snakehead
1 Rainbow shark
4 small plecs (6" L numbers)

I want something else for the tank, but can't decide on what.

Ideally I would like something that will take up the middle to top due to the number of more bottom fish, however there will be a lot of wood in the tank to provide resting places for all.

Any ideas people?

I suggest a nice shool of barbus filamentosa Filament barb.
mine seem to love hair algea as there is none left in the tank I put them in that had some.

Whats the actual volume of the tank? 34 fish is a lot to add to a 3 foot tank even if 6 of them are only temporary residents.

I'm having toruble thinking of any mid dwelling fish that grows large enough to avoid being eaten by the pims and snakehead and isnt a fin nipper that would be a danger to the African butterflies, my first thought was Exodons until i re read the post and saw the ATF there.

How about Congo tetra's? They've always been a favourite of mine and grow to a reasonable size?

Tank is 3x2x2 and will be filtered by a 2 foot wet dry tower and then a 15 gallon sump. Will also be connected to an understocked 48x15x18

My original thought was to congos, but I was kind of hoping for a less common fish.
