Here are my water stats:
Ph 7.6 (lowered for 7.8-8.4 with tap- read test worng)
nitrate was b/f 40% water change 30ppm-now 10ppm
nitrite and ammonia 0.0
There has not been any more losses today *knocking on wood*
i think it was th Ph, I now have it to 7.6. My tap is around 7.0-7.4
Here is whats in the tank
There were
4 white clouds
2 neons
4 gupps
in a 10 g tank
now there are
3white clouds (when 1st one died i wasn't alarmed, i just replaced him (that's y there are 3 now). I had him for nearly 6 months)
1 neon
4 gupps
The first 2 that died were whites that were farely large, so I assumed it was their life span. I had them for 6 months no telling how old they were when i bought them. The neons i got maybe 4 months ago? Only one died of those and the rest are all doing fine. The 3 whites are fine and so are the gupps, but then again so were the ones that died. Could it have been a coincidence that it was just their time to go all at the same time, or could it have been Ph? My test kit only gives you two or three spots on the chart it could be between, and the Ph color was closer to 7.8. Could it have been over stocked? Now I guess all is balanced again...
I'm thinking they were getting caught in the plants too.
I have 2 very wierd looking plastic plants in there. One isn't burried good, b/c I knocked it by accident tryng to remove another dead fish from the other plant. The other plant is the same wierd lookong plant that is dead underneath the filter's current. This is quite a strong current too.
I found the most resent (neon) caught in the gravel around the bottom of the plant i knocked. The other 2 (clouds) were caught in the bush under the filter flow.
Is there anything else I can tell you?
(I will try to take a picture of the plants so you can know what I'm talking about)
