I have a spare 3.5 gallon cube that I'd like to plant up.
Would it be big enough for a few shrimp without heater or filter? If so, what kind of shrimp could I put in it?
I can do daily water changes if needed

I asked a similar question myself and came to the conclusion that it'd be fine. Shrimps have such a low bioload - with weekly or twice weekly w/cs I'm sure it'd be fine. I think cherries are fine at room temp, so you'd be able to have those. I have a feeling ghosts might also be room temp but not 100% sure.

Alternatively, there are a few small tanks like the Fluval Spec or AquaHabitat which are both around 2 US gallons which come with filters. I think I once found the spec new for just £30 online which isn't too bad. Pets at Home make some (supposedly) decent little cubes too which might be worth considering.

The cube I have is a P@H one.
I have a spare sponge filter & heater if needed, but wondered if they'd do ok without.
Am watching your thread for any info :)

you have to feed shrimp and food produces ammonia as it breaks down in your tank. No filter, imo, is asking for deaths, as for heater, room temp i'm sure is ok for most shrimp
