I had started fish in cycling my 29 gallon the 18th of august. I got my 50 gallon also fish in cycling 2-3 weeks later
Both haveife plants in them.
The 29 gallon is showing nitrates for the first time today! Thats a long time.....almost two months! My 50 gallon cycled three weeks ago!
I only changed 15 gallons weekly in my 50 gallon because it barely ever showed ammonia. I changed the 29 gallon much more frequently due to the ammonia. Both have equal ammounts of fish to gallon ratio. 3 girls in the 29 and 8 platy in the 50.
Both tanks never showed nitrites on the liquid test kit...
I stopped changing the water this week on my 29 gallon and the Mmonia was at .25. I was hoping letting a bit of ammonia remain would do the trick....since its been 8 weeks and no nitrites or trates! Wether it was the tanks time to cycle or because i finally stopped doing abundant waterchanges idk! Maybe more the first and a bit of the latter.
Im one happy girl! Time to take my lovely females and put them in the 29 and the 14 fry out of the breeders and let them free in the 29 with the 3 a little over two month old fry! Pics soon of my baby tNk!
