29G Need Stocking Help

So since Ich wiped out the entire tank but 1 lonly platy. We decided to try something different this time around.
It's been a few weeks since the outbreak cleared. In addition a few weeks off from getting new fish. In the meantime we had fry which will be moved to my fry tank when all this happens.

We looked at gouramis and cichlids. More so the gouramis.
But wanted your opionions on this.
As well as what you would put in the tank.
edited as I forgot to mention. We have slightly shyed away from cichlids as I thought the tank might be too small?

There will be a baby pleco added (hopefully). Max size 4-5"



Tank Size = 29g W
Ph = 6.8-7

3-5 sparkling gouramis
3 platies
12 pygmy cories
10 neon tetras, or 12 boraras brigittaey

OMG those are so cute!
I want them. Yet no where has them here, and I can't find a local breeder.

May be worth asking if your local LFS can order some in if they don't already have some. You never know!

I think I'm going to have to go this route.




Any other suggestions on how you'd stock the tank?

I find that I can get pygmy cories from my better LFS but have ordered some from on line sources in the past. I love the ones that I have in my X. alvarezi tank and in my Heterandria formosa tank. If that is what you want, I think it is with working with your LFS to get them. If you are not sure about what you want, your choices may be different.
