Does anyone know of a good combination of goldfish that would work well with a 29 gallon tank set up.

Thanks

Common goldfish need 20 gallon tanks for the first goldfish then 10 gallons for every other one added.
Fancy goldfish 15 gallons for the first goldfish then 10 gallons for every other one added.
You cant mix common goldfish with fancy goldfish.
You mgiht be better of posting this thread in the coldwater section of the forum.
Also you will need a 60 gallon filter to cope with the waste as they are massive waste producers.

they are extremly messy i had to hoover the gravel 2-3 times a week then i found out when i joined this forum that my tank was not suitable so i got rid of them .
i kept goldfish for years cos i was scared that tropicals would be worse .
i've only had the tropical for a week but they need so much less maintenance there doesn't appear to be any mess in the tank .
you could always keep some of the fancier white cloud minnow varieties or keep a heater and swap over to tropical

:)

No. No goldfish of any sort in a 20 gal as a permanent home. The normal body types and shubunkins grow to an average of 10 inches, most get well over that at 14 inches. The fancy types generally get to the size of a big orange or cricketball. Even one goldfish would be stuck for space in a 20 gallon, you certainly cannot keep a combination of any sort in there. The best thing would be for you to get tropicals. All you need is a heater, all the things you do for basic tropicals are what you do for goldfish, but with a heater. The process is exactly the same and no more difficult as many often assume.
