My friend has a 29 gallon which he says is not overcrowded. Tell me your opinions.

Fish in tank
- 4 angels 2 or which are fairly small
- 2 dwarf gouramis
- 2 full size gold gouramies
- 1 Rummy Nose Tetra
- 1 Black Skirt Tetra
- 2 Swordtails
- 2 Mollies
- 1 Peacock Eel
- 2 Kuhlii Loaches
- 2 Glass Catfish
- 1 Albino Cory Cat
- A few more of which the names i cannot remember

I think your friend is overcrowded, but you'll know that. ;)

They also have some shoaling fish that are by themselves, like some tetra and the cory especially.

IMO 4 angels is also too much for a 29gallon. I'd keep one, but then I seem to give more room to fish than others.

What are the levels like?

 looking at the number of fish you hav it is slightly overcrowded. But when the angel fish grow up it WILL be overcrowded. Also the tetras you have should be in groups of atleast 3. You will hav to remove some fish. Try selling them

Personally, when possible, I'd rather have 2 or 3 same-species fish in a shoal, and 3 or 4 species in a tank. At a stetch, perhaps 5 species.

Yup, personally I think you have too many species in that tank. Many of what is in your tank requires groups of 4 or more of them. (such as tetras and cories)

Was there a reason for you to select that particular combination?

if you look in my profile you see that i only have a 75 gallon tank not a 29

Why do you have to prove your friend wrong. Or you just trying to bust him. And what are the levels in his tank right now. You need to provide information too kiddo

IMO it doesn't matter what the water levels are. the tank if far too crowded to be comfortable with. 4 angels IMO would be way too much for a 29 gallon unless they had the tank to themselves. and as already mentioned alot of the fish are alone and need to be in schools.

I would try talking to your friend abou it, or at least printing up some info about the schooling fish for him to read.

Two of the angels are small, of course when they are full grown but right now it should be okay. When they get bigger he will either have to upgrade his tank or give them away. What are the sizes of the other fish in the tank. Are they all full grown or are they babies. Everything could be small right now, and if that is the case, then they will be fine for right now. Is your friend planning on buying any other tanks?
