Another question....

would a 250w MH lighting too much for a 30 gallon high tank? I do have coral and im sure they wont mind more lighting, i will have a computer fan keeping things cool. Also i believe what im getting comes with 2 blue actinic PC lighting on both sides of the MH housing....heres a think to the pic of what im thinking of getting (but not with the wood work)

tank dimensions are 30x12x18, and im not sure about the kelvins but this pic might explain the light better....

That's just the ballast. It essentially conditions the electricity to a type useful to the bulb. Look on the bulb itself for any identifying marks. A 250 will cover that footprint pretty well. It'll struggle a little bit on the edges but prolly no big deal.
