Hello

I am looking at acquiring a 250l tank (55 Imp, 66 Us) The dimensions are 1m x 0.5 x 0.5, os it is fairly deep.

I already have scissortails and skirted tetras.

What other fish can i introduce?

Angels?
More tetras.
Upside down Cats?
More Tetras (Rummy nose, Red Eye and glass) or any Characins

Can I mix plecs and loaches

Can I only do malawis, or will the tetras become lunch?

What are my options with respect to expanding the tanks, and how many Cm's of fish can I stock.
I do have some plants, and substrate for the three kuhli loaches which i plan to expand to 6 or 8

Of course, one of the really wonderful things about the hobby is the endless variety of beautiful tanks that can be created. I never cease to enjoy seeing the pictures of peoples different ideas.

There are things to be said for a fish-loaded tank teaming with movement and there are things to be said for a beautiful aquascape with a few big shoals of tetras moving between the plants. I tend to like the latter. Its easy for beginners to fall into the trap of not realizing that too many varieties can spoil "the look."

Angels are of course a classic centerpiece fish to go along with large tetra schools. I envy your nice large tank!

Thanks Waterdrop

I like shoals myself with one or tho show pieces to break up the tank. Like wise I enjoy the simplicity of just a few fish (like the Malawis) with their brilliant colours
Decisions, decisions.

i hope to get a 250L tank in the summer, ill be stocking with harlequins, honey guarami, corys, guppies, platies and shrimp...i think.May change my mind though,im not sure which other fish are compatable with the ones i like...for instance could i add 2 angels into the tank listed above?
