25 Litre Hexagen Tank

Hi, i have a 25 litre fully cycled hexagen shaped tank which is more tall than wide, what stocking options do i have? Was thinking of either dwarf puffers but not sure if there is enough room or siamese fighters but i have a fluval 1 which makes quite a current which i know these fish don't like. ALL suggestions welcome

You could get away with a Dwarf Puffer in there, but with it being a tall tank I wouldn't risk any tank mates. There are other options in such a tank though, Endlers, Cherry Shrimps, maybe a female Siamese Fighter, they are generally better swimmers than males so should be able to handle the current better.

If you choose to go with a Dwarf Puffer then yes it would be a single one. They are quite antisocial little fish and in a tank that size where the focus is more on height rather than length / width there wouldn't be the space for more than one to keep out of each others way. Tank mates are a difficult thing with Dwarf Puffers and the tank is to small for any of the more acceptable tank mates such as otos. Things like shrimp would be pointless as they would more than likely just end up an expensive meal for the Dwarf Puffer.

ok thanks for all the advice, would the tank need a decent layout, bogwood plants etc as i hear dwarf puffers need to keep entertained if you get what i mean thanks again

Bogwood and plants would be appreciated, basically you wanna provide the Dwarf Puffer with a lot of cover. However there are numerous ways of accomplishing that.

any good ways of accomplishing that as i don't have a good immagination ha, anywhere to find good tank setups(pics etc) or any good ideas yourself

You could for example have some wood and rocks and stuff at the base of the tank to provide cover and form a few caves, then have a couple of relativally long pieces of wood go upward to give a degree of cover at the upper levels of the tank.
