Hello all, I just bought a new (to me) Rio 300 and Ive got a load of mixed tropheus to put in it.
Just looking for some advice really on what filter would be the best for this size of tank, being quite heavily stocked.

I was looking at the FX5, but Ive been put off it by some reviews Ive read. At the min Im thinking Eheim 2217 classic, would one of these be enough for the tank? Or would anybody reccomend something else? Unfortunatly I cant have a sump, no matter how hard I wish! Simply dont have the space. I will have a pretty powerful powerhead in the tank aswell.

I know its generally a good idea to have two canister filters but ideally I would like to just have one filter because I hate loads of pipes in the tank. Plus my Rio 180 did fine for 3 years with just an AquaPro 3, unless I was going away for more than a couple of days then I added an internal eheim I have.

Cheers!
