My hobby FISH KEEPING
When I 1st started I knew nothing about fish, or how to keep them. I looked around on the web and found little bits of info but most contradicted each other. I decided to go ahead and get a tank anyway. My 1st tank was a 20 gal and as you can see I knew nothing about making it “natural lookingâ€
This tank was not only set up with the very tacky decorations, but was WAY overstocked from the 1st day.
Blue gravel, plastic plants, fake driftwood, ceramic skull, sea coral background
5 platys, 6 neon’s.
I actually added 3 mollies to this tank before the fish started to die off from bad water conditions due to overstocking.
Next step was to add a new background, live plants, new gravel and driftwood
At this point I was down to 1 platy and 4 neon’s. I waited a bit for the water conditions to level out before I started adding fish. 1st I added 3 Zebra Danios, then I added some new driftwood, and some more plants
I was actually starting to get to like the tank. But I felt it needed something more, one thing was more fish so I added a bristle nose plec and a Blue dwarf Gourami, Then I got a new light and rearranged the wood and plants again.
Then after another trip to the plant store, got a center piece of driftwood and a couple of new plants, and a final rearrangement and I got to where I am today
Of course it looks better today then it did during that pic, but I am waiting a couple of months for everything to fill in and for some fish changes before I post new pics. Just thought everyone might want to see the progression of a beginner
I'm starting my new project tonight of stocking up and planting a 55 gal tank. I will get a bit father the 1st time here now that I know more but of course I will be posting pics
