I got a 20g long, and I have my Zebra Danios in it, and then I have a Betta with them. I also then have another 10g with a betta in it. I can have some more fish, yes? what should I get? I could move my Danios and I also can move my Bettas, I have 2 open bowls

Please don't use the bowls.

As for the tanks, you could have all sorts of things in there. Some fish don't like the movement of the ever-zippy danio but other than that you have a fair scope, other then size.

What fish, other than danios, do you like?

Perhaps you could try some marbled hatchets for the top level, with the danios, and some kuhli loaches on the bottom would be cool or cories depending on substrate.

YoYo loaches would also be cool :) When I had zebras, I had harlequin rasboras in with them, a gold gourami and yoyo loaches. That was a fun tank :)

A twenty gallon long is a good sized tank :) You could get rams (bolivian or blue) apistos, and other cichlids under 5 inches :D (not africans, although maybe shelldwellers, which I have almost no knowledge of)

Well if you're talking about the bowls in your sig it would be like a mansion to a beta (in my opinion)(bout min. tho) Yes yoy or dojo loaches I think may be good in there ... maybe more danios ??? some neons maybe ??

would I be able to have pearle Danios? how many? cories, are ther multiple kinds? how many of them would I be able to put in there? would they get along with my Betta as well. also mt 10g with the Betta, would guppies work, how many( I don't want to breed, so I wil prob. get all males)?

Hi daniodude :)

A 20 gallon long tank might just be my favorite size tank because it is a perfect size for corys. This tank, for anyone who doesn't know, is 30"x12"x12" which means lots of space for bottom dwellers in proportion to the rest of the area.

It's a great tank to keep lots of corys on the bottom and a betta on the top. :D

I wouldn't do guppies with a betta, there can be compatibility issues.

Cories would be great for that tank, especially if you're planning a sand substrate! Depending on the other fish you had in there, you could have up to 10 cories! There are many many many different kinds of cories, check HERE for some thumbnails of some of the different species :) Some are readily available but some are very rare in the hobby. If you go with cories, I'd get 5 of 2 different kinds or all 10 of the same kind :p

I'm sorry, I don't know about pearl danios...

A 20 gallon long is a great tank, it looks bigger than it is because of the length, and you can get good growth of plants since the light doesn't have a lot of water depth to travel through to reach them. It also has a lot of surface area for air exchange, which means it can be safely stocked more densely than a 20 gallon high could be. A beginner can put about 30 inches of small bodied fish into a 20 long (not all at once of course unless you've done a fishless cycle with ammonia first), assuming good modern filtration and regular weekly water changes. An experienced keeper could push it to 45 inches, again we are talking about small bodied fish here like dwarf cories and small tetras or rasboras. Larger bodied fish will adjust the stocking of course, and be honest with yourself about how dense a stocking you can handle, err on the side of understocking.

Bettas and cories are generally compatible, especially in a larger tank. Bettas and guppies are generally not. I wouldn't keep any fast moving potential fin nippers like the danios you mentioned with the betta.

would I be able to put in Corydoras araguaiaensis or Corydoras agassizii as shown in the link in parker313's post? how rare are they, I like the spotted ones, all of them, which are the more common ones?
