Anyway, Its been 2 weeks since ive started my first ever fish tank and thought id like to share some pictures

Sorry for Picture quality, my camera is a 5MP but it sucks so bad

Tank Size = 60 Litres
Fish =
4x Cory (I think there orange with black tails and quite small)
5x Neon Tetra
4x Zebra Daino
1x Male Betta
2x Op Gourami

I Know its slightly over stocked but I am getting a new tank very very soon and the gourami and tetra's will be moved out of the tank

Many THanks

Well done so far! (you've been lucky)

Obviously you have opted for cycling WITH fish so with that amount of fish I hope you are doing daily, partial water changes. Are you testing the water?

The 4 Danios should be all that you should have in there for cycling with fish. (although they need more room)

That stock type is unsuitable for the Betta (cycled or not)

Gouramis need a planted tank (which you have) but as well as that it needs to be fully cycled and matured (6 months?)

On a good note, it looks like a pretty cool tank just a shame you did not seek advice or research before stocking

That's a lot of fish. You should definitely test daily (or more often) and do water changes as needed for at least 10 weeks

Very pretty tank. You did a great job decorating it.

I would start doing water changes so you don’t start losing fish and test the water daily. You should have just added a few fish instead of a chunk of fish. However, it’s done so can you give us your water parameters so we can help?

Ammonia, Nitrites, nitrate and pH?

I suggest feeding very lightly because if you over feed and there is waste your ammonia and nitrites will skyrocket.

We aren’t picking on you; just trying to help so your fish live threw this.

Cycling with lots of fish in the tank is really stressful on them and they are more prone to disease because there immune system is weak.

Your going to have a go at me but i didnt have a water tester, got one now the levels are as following

GH: 180
kh: 240
PH: 7.0-7.5
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 40
Amonia:0

Hope that hellps.

I do water changes every 3-4 days

Everything is looking good, either you have cycled your tank or it hasn't started but that would be a cause for concern.

well i had like 3 nitrite the other day now its 0

You are cycled, yea! For the time being still keep an eye on your water parameters and continue the water changes. So congrats on the cycled tank!

Na, we won't have a go at you. You are doing a great job asking questions and caring for your fish. :good:

Cheers mate

Looks good ace. Would recomend a background (usually either solid black or blue) for your next tank as it really makes the colors of the tank pop!
