I am Betta shopping tonight :hyper: as long as hubs gets home with the car early enough.

I've made a section in one of my larger tanks, all ready for my new guy. But the tank is upstairs & I really want him downstairs as they are such sociable fish.

The only available tank I have down here is a 30ltr rena, If I were to divide it, could I have a male in each half? is this too little, or ok do you think? If its too small for two, I think I will still use it for one male.

i'm sure i've seen people do the same set up for two males, but just wanted a little feedback, before I go ahead & start taking my tank apart.

It is a tad on the small side, I personally wouldn't have my betta in less than 5g but 15l is over 3g, so it is doable :D

Agree 100% with reztaii.

In my opinion it's 'unneccesarily small', so I would personally go with one male (perhaps try to find a particularly large finned/generally large male?).

But it is 15l per fish, so presuming it's long as opposed to tall then it should be ok.

15 litres is my minimum for betta keeping, and some people will say even that's too small. Ideally I'd say give the entire tank to one betta, but as long as you set the tanks up carefully then you could keep two.

Remember that they need a good amount of plants and somewhere to sleep close to the waterline, as well as a cave or two.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I decided to move my guppy pair from their 60ltr & have divided that one for my new betta's instead
