Hi all,

Bit of a silly question really, but i'm getting a fluval internal filter thanks to a magazine subsrciption,

Many people have already said to run both filters in my tank to which i have no problem with,

My question is which way should the new filter be facing?

My tank is 80 x 35 x 40 approx 110ltrs and it's a juwel rekord 800, this filter and pump (400 lph) is on the back right corner facing left.

Many thanks in advance,

Mark.

Try to face them in a way that the water movement produced by the two are moving the water out of the filter and around the tank towards the inlet of the filter.

You want to try to produce a current that "pushes" the water back towards the inlet of the filter, that way you are kind of "helping" the filter out.

I have a powerhead in my tank about 5 inches below the surface on the right side of my tank that is shooting water across the tank towards the inlet of my filter.

Helps the filter out a little bit.

I have a jewel tank, and am currently cycling my eheim aquaball 2208. i have it on the left side pointing towards the right side, so theoretically, the flow comes out of the jewel filter, gets sucked into the eheim filter and then is forced back towards the in take of the jewel

hope this helps

Thats what i thought, BUT, i sit right next to my tank, so all i'm gonna be able to see is a new filter!!!!

Oh well the pros and cons of fishkepping (roger waters anyone!!!)

Roll on 8 weeks new tank with a new (established) filter
