2 foot tank...

Ive jus had a 2 foot tank bought for me today by my girlfriend for our year anniversary and im jus wondering what sort of fish you would suggest i put in it? The tank its 17 Gallons and i want alot of colour and really interesting fish... Any suggestions?

Male guppies are really colourful but have long fins so you have to be careful what you mix them with.

Also there are lots of colour variations of Platies that are small (2.5" max)

I agree with sunflower, male guppies are really pretty.

I have an 18 gallon tank and i'm very new to this tropical fish stuff. I have started off with guppies but want to also get Molly's they are very nice but no so colourful, i have also been thinking of the cardinal tetra's they are colourful and look so pretty in a small shoal. If you are looking for colour - becareful not to fall for the fish that have been injected with dye, go for natural colours.

if it were mine I would add a bristlenose pleco, some Harlequin Rasboras, 1 male swordtail and 3 females, some guppies and black widow tetras. Maybe a pair of dwarf gouramis or red honey gouramis. They're all my favourite fish
