Ok, heres the deal, I bought two german rams last week and everything was great and fine at first. But then the first one died, i checked water stats and they were fine, but i did a water change anyway just to be cautious. 4 days later, which is today i came home to find my other german ram dead. The water stats are all still in range and everything is fine.

I have 3 baby panda cories in this tank also and they are happy as can be, what is the problem? just a bad pair?

Is the tank mature as they do better in a tank that's been set up for a while?
Rams are very sensitive and many people have lost them for no reason. I've tried different suppliers/shops and never had any luck keeping a male alive.

yeah the tank is mature and has a been cycle for months. I'm upset, i love these little guys

It is frustrating, I felt exactly the same way.
I even tried keeping mine with a PH of about 6.5 as I know they like softer water. Never lost my female but got through 4 males in as many weeks. :(

sorry to hear about your rams. I had a pair of golden rams which were beautiful, they were in an established tank and had them for about 6 months. The female died for no apparant reason ,, fine one day and gone the next. The male came out of where they used to hide together and just hung about on top of the log as if he was looking for her, he swam, ate but always went back to same place. then after a week and half he died too. Was as if he'd given up the will to live. They were always swimming and sleeping together. Broken heart syndrome???? All the rest of the fish in tank were fine.

I guess i just gotta keep trying

Another alternative would be Bolivian Rams or some Apistogramma cichlids. Bolivians aren't as colourful but they are still beautiful fish. Apistogrammas are also great in a community tank and there are a few different varieties, some more colourful than others.
