2 Balloon Rams I Saved Roday

today i was at a fish store, not the one which i usually go to. And i saw a tank of baby balloon rams...the tank was small, dirty and the water was foul smelling. there were 6 balloon rams and 4 were dead, leaving only 2, and the remainig two had peeling scales. Seeing that they were only babies, i decided to rescue them and try to raise them..i have little knowledge about balloon rams so could anyone tell me more about them??? and possibly tell me what i can do to treat their falling scales? i uploaded a lot of pics...

DO a lot of water changes. Say 10% to 25% every other day for 15 days.

I hope they gave them to you for free considering all the trouble you are going to have to go through. I seriously hope you did not give them any money. All that will do is allow them to refill that nasty tank with more fish.

haha...i bought them at 70 cents each while it was written $1.50 on the tank...i asked the store owner for a discount and she gave it to me...i cant possibly ask them to give it free cant i? thats like daylight robbery.anw i hope that shop closes down..

You should have told her you've seen cans of tuna that looked healthier and told her you would save her the trouble of flushing them. Or stirring in Mayo.

well done for saving them!! i hope they will be ok, keep us updated on how they are going. if they are german blue rams i know next to nothing aout them, only that they are particularly sensitive to water quality. maybe this was why the majority of the ones in the tank at the shop were dead. good luck with them

Plenty of water changes. Add some Melafix/Primafix if you have it. You are probably seeing ammonia burn on the fish. Keep an eye out for dropsy, as this is a disease of the scales.
