This morning I found my first dead fish, a bronze cory :(
The tank has only been running a couple of weeks (after a fishless cycle) so as a newbie I wanted to check if I should do anything?
The water seems fine with my test kit: 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 20 nitrate.

All fish were swimming around fine as usual last night, but this morning he's as dead as a door-nail with the barbs having a bit of a scavenge of the poor thing.
I did notice he was paler than the other cories, so could he have been poorly when we bought him?
I just assumed he was a slightly different type to the others, almost albino looking to me.

I wasn't planning to treat the tank with anything as I can't work out why he died.
Had a quick look at the dead fishy and I couldn't see any sores or anything else unusual.

So is there anything I should do? Or just put that death down to bad luck and keep an eye on the rest of the tank?

Also I wasn't planning to replace him as the other cories seem happy enough at the moment (4 left).
See sig for tankmates.

Don't buy wierd coloured fish unless you know they are meant to be that way. Individual fish that show different colours from the norm are usually unwell. Call it bad luck and assume you got a dud. Don't add any new fish for a couple of weeks just in case there is an issue. Monitor the remaining fishes and if you lose another one then start to worry. Do a partial water change if you haven't done one in the last week. Make sure the new water is free of chlorine and has a similar temperature and pH to the tank.
