1st cycle

i got a ten gallon aquarium and i think i am doing the 1st cycle i have no fish all my equiptment is running and no fish is this the first cycle and when do i know when it is over?

um nothing really happens when the tank is just running........tho it's good to make sure everything works well! next step is to do a fishless cycle because it's highly recomended here and since this is your first tank right? it would b best to go that way...so u don't lose any fish.........i'm not good at explaining fishless cycling i'm sure alien anna or someone will step in and save me! but there is an article about new tank syndrom and this will tell u a bit about fishless cycling (it's all about bacteria) this article is posted at the top of the beginners section
