Clown Loach and one of our neons and Ruby Shark

The castle and bridge have now been replaced with a large piece of bog wood. We also have four guppy's but since one of them has just given birth its hard to get a good picture without the isolation tank getting in the way!

Pictures wont load for me
they should, will upload them straight onto here, they came straight off my phone so i will be honest, i was being lazy

You need yo get a few more bala sharks and clown loach but it depends how big your tank is. Your going to need a H-U-G-E tank to hold these fish in shoals as well as all your others.

do they like to be kept in shoals? its 96 ltrs, when they get too big we will either sell them to a pet shop or upgrade our tank, we have only had the tank for a month or 2 so its a big learning curve you know, you get told so much different info!!! one person says they like to be on their own others say shoal?!?!

gorgeous plec

what type is it?

haha we have been looking through the millions of pictures to try and find its name!! any idea of how to find the exact one please let me know!!

96ltrs is wayyy to small...
for which fish are you referring to? we were informed 25 gallons should be sufficient for our fish, considering none are above 2" .... yet...

I have a 29gallon tank i was informed that having 2 silver shark was too much for even my tank, so i would of thought 1 silver shark and the others was too much for a 25gallon.
I maybe, and probably will be wrong. Any who.

That plec is really nice :look: would love one for my tank lol

Thank you, He's probably the most expensive fish i've bought coming in at around £30, I've tried looking
up pictures on the internet to find what type of plec he is, but as of yet ive found nothing
It looks as though he could be a mix?! lol

looks like a leopard frog plec L134, very nice specimen.

silver sharks and clown loach both like to be in groups so minimum of 3 really and both will need tanks in excess of 100 gallons once full grown.

you may want to trade these fish in now for something else, or get some more with plans to upgrade the tank within a years time.

I havent really thought about trading them in yet, I guess im a bit attached.
When i first bought both the silver shark and loach, i was told they'd both do fine on their own. Apparently as the shark grows it gets quite terratorial and as sharks are very solitary creatures they can fight with others of its own kind?

I know they'll both grow pretty big, when they do i'll probably trade them with my local pet store or sell them to another collecter.
For now, they make a nice addition to my tank and i'll be sad to see them go.

(unless i upgrade my tank, which is a possibility one day! ;))

I'm afraid you'ved been told enough porky pies to feed this entire forum!

The point is silver sharks and clown do best in groups, so I would either suggest getting atleast another 2 of each in mind to upgrade or if you really will let them go before the harm starts in there growth then buy more to sell them as a group when there too big. Or get rid of them now and use the stocking space for soething more suited to your size tank.

Silver sharks deffinately do not fight with each other, they might have the odd scuffal to sort out whos top shark but don't fight. We currently have 5 silver sharks in a tank at work all 7-8".
