1ft shrimp/moss tank

okie i just got my 1ft tank ready (2.5 gals). put sand, put water. waiting for the water to age. put my java moss inside. i was wondering if i open the window, allowing sunlight to come in, will there still be algae) i washed the tank and sand as best as i could and i dun think there would be too much nitrates. i'm not gonna put fish inside and just gonna put shrimp and java and probably other mosses

That was the biggest problem I have with my 1ft shrimp tank - couldn't get the lighting right and ended up with lots of algea. I ended up having to strip it down and move the shrimp to another community tank.
