Ive just started cycling my 17L tank using an air fed sponge filter and going on how rare that white CT bettas are (which is the only betta i want, other than a black CT) im beginning to think of dwarf puffers. Can you keep 2 in a 17L? 1 tiny DP just wouldnt look right to me, I'd put lots of MTS in the tank too as food along with other food. Would the filter be up to the job..along with 20% water changes every 5 days?

OR..Where can i get my CT betta

The tank is too small even for 1 dwarf puffer in my opinion. The advised amount is 5 US gal per puffer but really that should be for extra puffers, for the first one I think you need 10 gal, then 5 gal per extra puffer. Dwarf puffers need really good water conditions that are hard to keep stable in a very small tank, they can change very rapidly.

I'd recommend a betta

could a couple of dwarf puffers be put into my community? and ill hunt high and low for a black or white betta. There are some black half moons on ebay for 30 quid.... bit steep

could a couple of dwarf puffers be put into my community?

I was asking the same questions recently. The answer seems to be they 'can' but at any point they might decide to 'taste' the other tank occupants. Could be instantly, could be in a years time, but generally they WILL decide to have a go.
